The Fairfax Industrial Association is hosting its 5th Annual Fairfax Festival on Thursday, 10/08/20 from 3:30-6:30pm. Expected attendance this year is 500. We will have LIVE MUSIC, A BEER/WINE GARDEN, COOK-OUT, HISTORICAL BOAT RIDES AND LAWN GAME TOURNAMENT.
LOCATION: The Fairfax Festival will be held once again at Kaw Point Riverfront Park which is a historical landmark located in the Fairfax District. The Lewis & Clark expedition camped at this location. This is a picturesque setting along the point where the Kaw and Missouri Rivers meet and downtown KC, MO can be viewed from the banks.
FAIRFAX PROUD: Many do not know the historical significance of Fairfax. The Fairfax District was the first planned industrial district in the country and currently houses over 150 businesses, employs 10,000 people and generates over $5.4 billion in annual sales. Business sizes range from very small, one- employee businesses, to large companies, employing more than 3,500 people. Many are world famous: the Fairfax Kellogg’s plant makes nearly 75% of all of the Cheez-Its, CertainTeed is the largest insulation manufacturing plant in the world, Owens Corning makes the famous Pink Panther insulation and The Fairfax General Motors Assembly Plant is the only plant making the Chevrolet Malibu.
