A study is being conducted to replace or rehabilitate the Broadway/O’Neil Bridge in the coming years. This will mean both a significant investment and a significant opportunity in a critical regional corridor. With this study, we will take a fresh and objective look at options for the bridge and I-70 corridor in the North Loop.
The study will assess ideas suggested by the community and identify several feasible options for the future of the bridge and corridor. It will stop short of identifying a single preferred solution.
Representatives from the FIA board are participating in these meetings to ensure the Fairfax district is well-represented and considered in these plans. We will send out notifications as these meetings occur so that you or a representative of your business can also attend. Please visit the website beyondtheloopkc.com for more information.
Study area of influence follows MO 169 (The Broadway Extension) from Riverside, along the edge of the downtown airport and across the Broadway/O’Neil Bridge. It stretches across the North Loop of I-70 from I-35 on the East to I-670 on the West in KCK. Traffic impacts will be studied from inside the majority of the 435 Loop around the region.
