We need volunteers from Fairfax businesses to serve on a committee to help develop a master plan for Fairfax. This plan will be incorporated into the UG Northeast Master Plan as well as for FIA long-term planning.
Think about what our district would look like with curbing, sidewalks, new and or additional lighting, monument entrance signage at our main entrances welcoming people in to the Fairfax District, etc. Curbing would also help with drainage issues along with incorporating some grassy areas that can help absorb rainfall. FDD will also be looking at drainage infrastructure.
Our district was the first planned industrial district in the country. In 2022, Fairfax will be 100 years old! We have a lot to be proud of, but we also need to start thinking long-term on how to update our district to ensure its future economic success.
