Last Thursday, 10/7 one of our businesses in the northwest area of Fairfax was broken into around 5 am. According to the business owner “Two white men in a black Ford Escape cut our chain that locks our gate and drove into our gated area. Shut the gate like no one was inside the gate. Used a crowbar to jimmy 2 of our entrance doors open (one was an outbuilding and one was our main building side entrance door). They stole 2 of our employees tools that were kept here overnight. The tool boxes are valued at over $1000/each. The police were called and we’ve got lots of video captured to assist the police. Could you please let the other businesses know to be on the look out.”
On Mon, 10/ 11, another business on the east side of Fairfax reported that “a black 4 door Nissan Altima with black wheels pulled into our lot and vandalized four employees’ vehicles – smashed windows, stole contents and also catalytic converters. We can’t read the tags from the video. Three males were involved. It happened between 3pm and 3:15pm yesterday. We’ve contacted KCKPD and the employees will be filing reports.”
Some key things to remember:
– Always call 911 if you see suspicious activity
– Report any suspicious activity or crime to our Fairfax patrol Officer Daniel Sachen
– Report any suspicious activity or crime to FIA so we can share with all our businesses
– Always file a report
In addition, catalytic converters remain one of the key items stolen from designated parking lots and here are some tips worth keeping in mind to help thwart thieves from stealing catalytic converters.
