About the Police Athletic League
The Police Athletic League of KCK is a nonprofit that serves 1,200 disadvantaged kids a year with entirely free after-school programs including Driver’s Education, gun safety, fitness/boxing, archery, gardening and cooking, art, tutoring, low-rider bike mechanics and more.
Businesses and civic groups are invited to help us serve our free Wednesday community dinners to 80 kids who participate in our programs. Program and event partnerships are also available for organizations wishing to support our work. To learn more, visit: https://www.palkck.org/community-dinners
DYK: Driver’s Education program
The PAL serve approximately 800 kids per year with free after-school and summer programs. One of them is their Driver’s Education program, the only driving program in the country that is completely free for kids and run by police officers.
The 200 kids in our Driver’s Ed programs will be looking for internships, jobs, and introductions to career opportunities once they get their driver’s licenses and graduate from high school and they provide assistance in that area as well. Here’s the impact report with additional details of this program.
