Meet Greg Farmer:
Greg Farmer was named The Kansas City Star’s Executive Editor in February after spending five months as Interim Executive Editor. The Star article announcing his appointment can be found here. Before that, he was The Star’s managing editor for seven years and led day-to-day operations of its award-winning newsroom. Greg has spent 26 of his 30 years in the news business at The Star. His first four years in the profession were spent in news and sports at The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky.
His previous roles at The Star include City Editor, Digital Editor, Page One Editor and News Editor. Greg, 52, is a Kansas City native and a 1993 graduate of the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas. He also earned an executive MBA from the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2012.
